1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and dgzstudios ("dgzstudios," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the P.R.E.P. application (the "App" or "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the App and must provide accurate information when creating your account. You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity under your account.
3. Purchases and billing
Certain features of the App — such as unlocking a course's Objective Assessment practice content — require a one-time, per-course purchase processed through Google Play Billing. Prices are shown in the App at the time of purchase. All purchases are subject to Google Play's own payment terms and refund policies; refund requests should generally be directed to Google Play, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
4. Paper-review service and AI disclaimer
The App's paper-review feature uses an AI model to produce an estimated rubric readiness assessment of a paper you upload. Please read this section carefully:
- The report is not an official grade and is not produced, endorsed, or reviewed by your institution or instructor.
- The report is an automated estimate and may contain errors, omissions, or misjudgments. It is not a substitute for guidance from your instructor, advisor, or institution.
- Every quoted excerpt or passage in a report is independently checked against your submitted text; anything that cannot be verified is labeled as such rather than presented as confirmed fact.
- You are solely responsible for the content of any paper you submit for review or for your institution's coursework, and for complying with your institution's academic-integrity policies.
- Each purchased paper-review allowance currently includes one initial review and two revision reviews, and is subject to upload limits (currently 25 pages, 10,000 words, and 10 MB per file) and a limited retention period for uploaded content, each of which may change over time and will be reflected in the App.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of any paper, note, or other content you submit to the App ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and transmit it (including to third-party AI providers, as described in our Privacy Policy) solely to provide the Service to you.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of your institution's policies.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its backend systems.
- Upload content you don't have the right to submit, or content containing malicious code.
- Use automated means to access the App outside of its intended interfaces.
7. Intellectual property
The App, including its design, branding, and underlying software (excluding your User Content and any third-party content), is owned by dgzstudios and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our trademarks or branding beyond what's needed to use the App as intended.
8. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase, Google Play Billing, and Anthropic's Claude API. Your use of the App is also subject to the applicable terms of those providers, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ANY PAPER-REVIEW REPORT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DGZSTUDIOS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GRADES, ACADEMIC STANDING, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE APP — INCLUDING RELIANCE ON ANY PAPER-REVIEW REPORT — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from the Account screen. Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes your account and all associated data from our systems — see our Privacy Policy for details — and cannot be undone.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which dgzstudios is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
