1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how dgzstudios ("dgzstudios," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use the P.R.E.P. ("Prepare Review Excel Perform") mobile application (the "App" or "Service"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in, we receive basic profile information from your chosen sign-in method (Google, Microsoft, or email/password via Firebase Authentication) — typically your name, email address, and a unique account identifier. We do not receive or store your third-party account password.
Study and practice activity
We store your practice quiz answers and scores so the App can show your progress and readiness across sessions and devices.
Purchase information
Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive a purchase token and product identifier to verify and grant your entitlement — we do not receive or store your payment card details, which are handled entirely by Google Play.
Uploaded documents
If you use the paper-review feature, we receive the document you upload (PDF, DOC, DOCX, or TXT) — and, if you choose to attach one, the task rubric you provide in the same formats — for the purpose described in the next section.
Device and diagnostic information
We may collect standard technical information (device type, OS version, app version, crash and error logs) to keep the App working correctly and to diagnose problems.
3. Uploaded papers and AI processing
When you submit a paper for review, the App extracts its text and sends that text to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic, the maker of Claude) for automated evaluation against your course's rubric criteria. The generated report — including any quoted excerpts from your own submission — is independently re-checked against your original text before it is shown to you, and any claim that can't be verified is labeled as unable to be verified rather than presented as fact.
Your original uploaded file is deleted from our storage shortly after text extraction completes. The extracted text and generated report are retained only for a limited period — see Data retention below — after which they are deleted.
We do not use your uploaded papers to train our own models. Anthropic's handling of API inputs is governed by its own terms and privacy practices, which we encourage you to review independently.
4. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App's core features.
- To verify purchases and grant the corresponding entitlements.
- To generate paper-review reports and track your remaining review allowance.
- To sync your progress and history across your devices.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account or the Service, when necessary.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Third-party service providers
The App relies on the following third-party infrastructure to operate:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, App Check) — account management, data storage, and backend processing.
- Google Play Billing — purchase processing for paid features.
- Anthropic — AI-assisted evaluation of uploaded paper text, as described above.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms in addition to this policy. We choose providers that we believe maintain appropriate technical and organizational security measures.
6. Data retention
Extracted paper text and generated reports are retained for 90 days from creation, after which they are eligible for deletion. Account and practice-history data are retained for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Your rights and choices).
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including access-scoped security rules, encrypted transport, and authenticated access controls — to protect information stored by the App. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing.
You can delete your account at any time from the App's Account screen. Deleting your account is immediate and permanent: it removes your account and all of the data associated with it — including practice history, uploaded-paper reviews, and purchase records — from our systems right away. This action cannot be undone. You can also contact us using the details below to request deletion.
9. Children's privacy
The App is intended for students in post-secondary or professional-certification programs and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. International users
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above, and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
